Armful Pet ("we", "us") runs this website and the pet-care services described on it, from 1000 East 41st Street, #250-180, Austin, TX 78751. This page explains what personal information we collect and how we use it.
What we collect
- Booking requests: your name, email, phone number, street address and ZIP code, the service and time you choose, and your pets' names, types and any notes you add.
- Messages: your name, email, optional phone number and the message you send us.
- Sign-in: your email address, used to send you a one-time code. We keep a short-lived sign-in session in your browser's session storage; it is cleared when you close the tab.
- Continue with Google: if you choose it, Google shares your name and email address with us, nothing else. We do not post to or read anything in your Google account.
- Visit counts: we count page views and taps on our call, email and booking buttons with our own counter. It sets no cookie and stores no IP address, and nothing is sold or shared with advertisers. It records the page, the website you came from, the width of your screen and, if the link had one, a campaign tag (kept in your browser tab only until you close it). It does nothing at all when your browser sends Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control.
- Payments: memberships and gift cards are paid by card through Stripe. Stripe collects your card details on its own page; we never see or store your full card number.
- Visits: for GPS-tracked visits, the route and check-in times of your pet's visit, shared with you in your visit report.
- Live walk maps: when your sitter starts a live walk, their phone shares its precise location with us (latitude, longitude, accuracy and time, about every few seconds) only between the sitter tapping Start walk and End walk, or when the walk ends automatically. In our walker app this continues with the screen locked or the app in the background, and the phone shows a notification (Android) or the blue location indicator (iPhone) the whole time. We read location at no other time. Only you (the pet's owner, signed in) and our team can see the route; you see the sitter's first name only. We keep a walk's route for 30 days and then delete it; the walk's date, length and distance stay in your history. To have a route deleted sooner, contact us. Google Maps draws the map, so Google receives the request to load it.
- Sitters and walkers: our sitters sign in to the walker app or the team dashboard with their email address (a one-time code, or Google). Their location is collected only during a walk they start, shown to the pet's owner and our team, kept for 30 days, and never sold or used for advertising. The app reads the phone's battery level on the phone to show a low-battery warning; that reading is not sent to us.
How we use it
We use your information to confirm and carry out your visits, reply to your messages, send receipts and booking confirmations by email and text, keep our records, and keep the website secure. We do not sell your personal information.
Who we share it with
We share information only with the services that help us run the site and the business: our website platform provider (which stores bookings and messages and sends email on our behalf), Stripe for payments, Google for the live walk map, and the sitters assigned to your pet. We may disclose information if the law requires it.
Cookies and tracking
This website does not set advertising cookies. If we add analytics, we will describe it here and ask for consent where the law requires it.
